    Chinese

Authentic Mauritian Chinese Food and Hakka Cuisine.

Although Sino-Mauritians make up only 3% of the Mauritian population, Mauritian Chinese food, particularly Hakka Chinese, is very prominent on the island. In fact, it's the most popular cuisine next to Indian, and every Mauritian has their favorite Chinese dishes. We love serving them with the beloved Homestyle Chinese Red Chili Paste.

Just like with our Indian food, our dishes of Chinese origin has a very unique Mauritian twist. This means that the dishes and their names went through a French and Créole transformation and you will unlikely find these dishes outside of the island.
